P&GA shapes corporate messages on key issues, supports external engagements and manages the company’s reputation. 

Overview

The purpose of Public and Government Affairs is to build, enhance and protect ExxonMobil’s reputation and business. We do this by shaping messages on key issues and guiding the company’s engagement with policymakers, the media, key influencers, the general public and the communities where we live and work.

Business line support

Promote ExxonMobil’s leading performance and advantaged portfolio including Low Carbon Solutions, Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) and chemical expansion projects.
Example roles: LNG and unconventional, Upstream portfolio development, Chemical products and ventures, Global operations

Communications

Work to effectively tell the ExxonMobil story using human, persuasive, modern and frequent communications both internally and externally.
Example roles: Media relations, Corporate advertising, Employee communications, Graphic design

Government relations

Actively engage with government officials and key stakeholders to advocate for sound government policies.
Example roles: Federal government relations, State government relations

Issues and advocacy

Track and manage public policy issues of consequence for ExxonMobil’s global business and advise on strategic advocacy approaches.
Example roles: Corporate issues, Stakeholder relations

Strategy and corporate giving

Coordinate the company’s global contributions program, including grants made by the ExxonMobil Foundation, and provide support for other special corporate projects.
